The constitutional law for the recognition of insularity has been published. Rule which, approved in the last legislature, provides that "the Republic recognizes the peculiarities of the Islands and promotes the measures necessary to remove the disadvantages deriving from insularity". A goal that has seen all of Sardinia united towards a single purpose.
«Finally - is the comment of Elisabetta Casellati, minister for institutional reforms and regulatory simplification - the objective difficulties in which Italians residing on the islands are forced to live are also recognized at the constitutional level. It was necessary to guarantee them that they could enjoy their fundamental rights like all other citizens, and this law will make it possible to satisfy this need, mitigating the disadvantages associated with communication difficulties".
"A law - underlines Casellati again - which, by removing the obstacles that limit the freedom and equality of citizens, aligns perfectly with the European measures for territorial continuity and respect for fundamental rights relating to freedom of movement and residence" .
