The constitutional bill for the inclusion of the principle of insularity in the Constitution is approaching the definitive go-ahead.

The Chamber, in second reading, has just approved (425 votes in favor, 1 abstention) the text that introduces the reference to Insularity in a new paragraph to be included in Article 119 of the Charter ("The Republic recognizes the peculiarities of the Islands and promotes the necessary measures to remove the disadvantages deriving from Insularity ").

Since this is an amendment to the Constitution, the legislative process is aggravated, so the text will return to the Senate and then back to Montecitorio for the fourth and final reading, perhaps already before the summer.
