Inflation is slowly eroding the savings of the Sardinians and thrilling months are expected for the families of the island.

At the end of 2022, if the cost of living were to remain at current levels, more than 1.6 billion euros stored in regional current accounts with no or almost no returns will go up in smoke . In other words, in just one year the Sardinian economy could lose more than it will get in the short term with the long-awaited funds from the NRP (over 1.5 billion) to redevelop the infrastructures and services that in theory should bring benefits for the next decades.

In short, due to the growth in inflation, estimated at 8% for 2022 , the real economic size of the bank deposit has undergone a drastic cut. And to pay the heaviest bill are the families residing in the big cities, where the high cost is felt most.
