In Sardinia, inflation is faster than the Italian average and Easter this year will be "very high" for the citizens of the island.
This is what Adiconsum Sardegna denounces, commenting on the definitive data on March inflation released by Istat. The Italian average is 6.5%, on the island retail prices increased by 6.8% in March.
This translates into a greater outlay, considering the annual consumption expenditure of a typical family residing in Sardinia, equal to 1,808 euros per household.
“The Istat data confirm all our alarms on expensive prices in Sardinia and on the fact that in the region retail price lists are growing faster than in the rest of Italy - affirms the president of Adiconsum Sardegna, Giorgio Vargiu -. Increases that are continuing even in these days, and that will affect the traditional Easter lunch, making family celebrations very salty: compared to last year there are double-digit increases in the region for flour, butter, pasta, oil, vegetables, fish , and heavy increases also for meat, eggs, sweets ".
The prices of fuel at the pump in the Region are also rising again, "with the usual speculative increases that occur on the occasion of the holidays, when the movement of citizens increases".
Easter at the restaurant will also be more expensive, "increases of 5% compared to last year", concludes Vargiu.
