Inflation nightmare for those who live in Cagliari .

The statistical office of the Municipality has reworked the Istat data. The sting is all in a few lines of the press release: "In the month of October, the consumer price index for the whole community, for the economic part, marked a variation of +3.5% , in contrast with the -0 .1% recorded in the previous month. The tendential index has a variation of +12.2%, thus also increasing compared to the +8.9% recorded in the month of September”.

Translated: last month the prices of goods considered for the formation of the "basket" were 12.2% higher than the same period in 2021. And they grew by 3.5% compared to the previous thirty days. A race that seems unstoppable.

Driving the cost of spending ever higher – with salaries unchanged – are the items "Housing, water, electricity and fuel": they recorded the impressive increase of 59.9% in one year and of 26% between September and October.

Water, electricity and gas, therefore, increasingly empty the pockets of Cagliari citizens. But the price increase is also evident in the supermarket aisles. Who knows who attends them. And now Istat certifies it. Food products have increased by 13.8% in one year.

Specifically, the Municipality explains, "the significant variations in the "Vegetable" classes +7.9%, "Sugar, jams, honey, chocolate and sweets" +4.0%, "Fruit" +3.8 are on the increase %, "Milk, cheese and eggs" +3.7%, "Bread and cereals" and "Oils and fats" +2.3%, "Meats" +2.0% , "Food products nac" and "Mineral waters , soft drinks, fruit and vegetable juices” +1.9% and “Coffee, tea and cocoa” +1.4%”. In decrease, it was to be expected, "there are no significant changes".
