Independent cinema opens its doors to the local community for three days of stories, accessibility, and intercultural dialogue. From September 9 to 12, 2026, the "Antica Valeria" municipal theater in Decimomannu will host the second edition of the Officina Film Festival , a free-to-enter film festival.
The festival, according to the organizers, was created to celebrate independent cinema and socially relevant stories.
The event kicks off on Wednesday, September 9th at 8:00 PM with a screening of some works from the "Visioni Sarde 2025" selection, in collaboration with the Cineteca di Bologna. The opening night will continue with a screening of Karim Galici's film Fiori sottopelle , in the presence of the director and cast.
The afternoon of Thursday 10 September will begin at 4.30 pm with an exploration of the documentary genre, in the company of guests such as Domenico Ruiu or Noemi Fadda from Isre, and will then continue with the works Monzón by the journalist Antonello Deidda , on the story of the Cagliari boxer Efisio Galici , or Nado by Daniele Farina , dedicated to the artist of the same name.
On Friday, September 11, the spotlight will shift to the themes of disability, social exploration, and inclusion. The award-winning film The Madmen Coach by Carlo Liberatore and Ologramma by Francesco Zarzana , SVeLA , and Run Trip Life will be screened.
The final marathon on Saturday, September 12th, will feature a public video interview in the morning, featuring several actors, including Sabina Zicconi and Fiorenzo Mattu. Starting at 4:00 PM, a selection of Italian and international short films will be screened, with guests from Italy and beyond.
The evening session at 8.30 pm will give particular space to Sardinian video clips and short films, among which stand out Prove tecnici di empatia by Jacopo Cullin , Caro Fratello by Simone Paderi , Sbentiare by Tiziana Troja or Io non dimentico by Antonello Murgia , and the screening of Nel segno di Greca - Episodio 2 , a short film shot in Decimomannu as part of the workshop “Decimo in frame: dalla penna allo schermo”, under the direction of Daniele Arca , and which features some local kids followed by coach Maurizio Pulina.
Actress Sabina Zicconi and directors Karim Galici and Giulia Camba will judge the competing works, while the prizes will be awarded by Assemini ceramist Doriana Usai. The event is organized by the Officina Progetti Aps association with the patronage of the Municipality of Decimomannu and the local branch of Avis.
