The Senorbì museum is enriched with an important new work . In front of the public on special occasions, in the Domu Nosta civic archaeological museum (Madn) in via Scaledda, the donation of the faithful copy of the Mother Goddess of Turriga was presented by the Ancient Italian master who executed it, commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for the setup of the Italian Pavilion at the 1970 Osaka Expo.

«Thanks to the important donation made to our community, we have the honor of hosting the faithful copy of the Mother Goddess of Trexenta which was a symbol of the Sardinian heritage at the Japanese International Expo – said Elisabetta Frau, scientific director of the Madn and of the archaeological park of Senorbì –; from Osaka to Trexenta to represent, now more than ever, the history, progress and harmony of humanity. We, travelers of time, have the task of admiring it and taking care of it."

The evening was attended by the artist Italo Antico (who for his very welcome gift received the honorary citizenship of Senorbì from the municipal administration), the Superintendent of Cagliari and the Provinces of Oristano and Southern Sardinia Monica Stochino, the official of the Superintendence , Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape (Sabap) Gianfranca Salis, the mayor of Senorbì Alessandro Pireddu, the municipal councilor for Culture Sonia Mascia, the art historian Marcella Serreli and the director of the museum Elisabetta Frau.

The great Italian sculptor who created the Mother Goddess has been among the protagonists of the artistic renewal in Sardinia since the 1960s .
