Stadium accidents have decreased in the past season. This data emerged during a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi at the Ministry of the Interior, which was also attended by FIGC president Giovanni Malagò and the presidents of the three professional football leagues and the National Amateur League.
The meeting focused on analyzing the evolution of violence and criminal infiltration in the football fan community, as well as the process underway to update violence prevention tools.
During the meeting, the most recent data from the National Observatory on Sporting Events was examined, which highlights, despite increased prevention measures, a significant reduction in critical incidents: in the 2025-2026 season, incidents involving sports events decreased by 33.5% compared to the previous year, while injuries among police forces dropped by 32.8%.
At the same time, the Ministry of the Interior is working on a technical regulation that introduces more effective tools, including the progressive dematerialization of tickets, preventive checks using police databases, and uniform guidelines for all professional clubs.
