In Stintino I travel through the American music of the Golden Age

At the Vele del Porto Vecchio as if you were in front of the Ocean. Tomorrow at 10pm the "American Trip" concert is scheduled: a journey into the world of musicals among the masterpieces of George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein and Kurt Weill reinterpreted by voice and quintet composed of sax, violin, clarinet, bassoon and piano. For the penultimate evening of the StintinoJazz&Classica festival, the LABohème cultural association proposes a journey through the most famous pieces of Porgy and Bess , West Side Story and The Threepenny Opera , performed in the form of suites, reworked for sextet by the composer Luca Sirigu , which link the best-known themes of the three compositions, from the famous “Maria” to “America” by Bernstein, “I want to stay here” and “Summertime” by Gershwin, and “Ballad of Mack the Knife” and “Cannon Song” by Kurt Weill.

The group is made up of Denise Gueye on vocals with Luca Chessa (alto and soprano sax), Francesca Fadda (violin), Cristiana Nuvoli (clarinet), Angelo Russo (bassoon), Antonella Chironi (piano). The musicians who are part of the ensemble have classical training and different musical paths. They all collaborate with musical associations and local bodies, coming together for a concert that retraces the golden years of musicals.
