Cabudanne de sos poetes returns from August 26 to September 3 with an anomalous edition, poor in financial resources but rich in poems, stories, music, authors and the loyal public.

The theme of this 19th season is "Living in the villages" , graphic illustration by the Seneghese artist and illustrator Susanna Cubadda. "A vital meeting place between authors, readers and the public, and a true community and cultural garrison of Montiferru, which despite the enormous difficulties, resists", the words of the cultural association Perda Sonadora which has been organizing the event since its inception.

Without public funding, without the recognition of the Sardinia Region, but only with the resources provided by the Sardinia Foundation and with the voluntary donations of friends and sympathizers of the international festival, the Cabudanne continues to maintain its role as a cultural treasure chest of Sardinia that focuses on poetry, literature, reading that is life in small villages.

“The festival sees poetry in dialogue with politics, non-fiction, music, appointments dedicated to round tables and art”, explains Luca Manunza, president of Perda Sonadora. “It does so with a precise aim: to question in all its forms local and national policies that often have a negative impact on our small countries. We do it by putting culture at the center as usual. Also this year the Cabudanne does not stop, it continues its course with the effrontery that has often characterized us in all these years”.

However, a program rich in valorisation, promotion, training and creation of networks, mediated by cultural contents and artistic activities of recognized quality. "Reading, the growth of a territory and the development of communities, inevitably pass through the promotion of the book, the central node of this complex process of change. The meeting with the authors, the discovery of the other near or far, the development of curiosity continue to be conveyed through a gesture as simple as it is demanding: reading".

The Literary Festival will take place in Sa Prentza de Murone and Campo della Quercia with more than 50 guests for 28 appointments. Among the notable authors: Carmen Yanez from Chile, Juan Vincente Piqueras from Spain, Nanni Falconi, Franco Buffoni, Tomaso Tiddia, Diletta D'angelo, Francesco Ottonello and again Gianmario Villalta, Giuliana Pala.

The collaborations are strengthened with Entula and Liberos, the Propagazioni festival and Bimbi a Bordo which have greatly contributed to supporting Cabudanne 2023 with important events such as the one dedicated to the volume “Voglia di Restare. Survey on young people in Italy of the countries”, then the meeting with the former magistrate Gherardo Colombo.
