In search of the "green ray", from July 3rd in Cagliari the photographic exhibition by Maurizio Cau

The desert as a physical place, but also as an existential dimension and of interior, psychological and spiritual transformation. The research and observation of the green ray , a natural phenomenon of light refraction, which manifests itself in a few seconds in particular natural conditions, are the substance of the photographic exhibition by Maurizio Cau which will be inaugurated on Thursday 3 July at 18:30 in the spaces “The net value”, in viale La Plaia 15 in Cagliari. The event will be introduced by the teacher Donatella Masala.

"The exhibition," wrote journalist Simona HeArt, "is much more than a simple photographic exhibition. It is a project that aims to raise awareness of self-analysis and the encounter with one's own shadow." An opportunity to share images that tell of silence, waiting and the discovery of a new look at the world and oneself, an experience made of images and humanity .

Cau lived in Bali and Indonesia to cultivate multiple cultural and artistic interests. Then the turning point, his life took a new and unexpected development. He intensified his relationship with photography, the image that captures the fleeting moment . "I began - he underlines - a path of awareness for a need to shed light on many aspects of the surrounding reality". And on the physical place to which he turns his attention: "The desert is a place of interior transformation, an introspective journey, an alchemical process that occurs first of all within us".

The exhibition was set up in Milan, at the Dergano-Bovisa Library, during 2024.
