Fifty years after its first screening, Bernardo Bertolucci's "Novecento" returns to Sassari for a free screening on Tuesday, November 3 (Part I) and Wednesday, November 4 (Part II) at 7:30 PM at the Cinema Cityplex Moderno . This monumental historical film opens the autumn events of the "Pensieri e Parole. Libri e film all'Asinara" festival, organized by the Cinearena association, under the artistic direction of Antonello Grimaldi and Sante Maurizi . After the summer festival at Asinara, the festival continues its 21st edition in the city from November 3 to 25 with a month of events dedicated to the big screen.

Among the scheduled events is the seminar "My Eyes, Your Eyes: The Sardinian Landscape at the Cinema," led by Sante Maurizi and organized by the festival in collaboration with the Degree Program in Public Communication and Information Professions at Uniss-Dissuf (November 3, 5, 12, 13, 17, and 19, at 5:30 pm, Passano Hall, Viale Mancini). An evening of free screenings in collaboration with the Arte Mare festival in Bastia will also be held (November 25, Cityplex).

In the seminar "My Eyes, Your Eyes," Sante Maurizi will present films by Sardinian directors or those shot in Sardinia, from the 1950s to the present, which address the issues of landscape protection and the exploitation of natural resources, the delicate balance between progress and tradition , and the conflicts between economic development and land conservation. Far from being a neutral backdrop for the story, landscape in cinema has always been a fundamental element, reflecting, through similarity or contrast, the characters' moods, intentions, and thoughts. This will be discussed in the first lesson, on November 3rd .
