The "Ombre" concert opens the "I mercoledì del Conservatorio" series on March 5 at 7 pm in Sala Sassu, the richest and most varied concert series in the area, organized by the "Canepa" of Sassari.

The protagonist of the opening evening was percussionist Silvia Cossu, a student at the Sassari Conservatory and winner of the scholarship offered by professor Arminio Sechi in memory of his wife, professor Patrizia Manca , the first to graduate in Percussion Instruments at Canepa and who passed away prematurely in March two years ago.

The concert programme includes Suomineito for solo vibraphone by Nebojša Jovan Zivković, Retrouvailles for two percussionists and actors by Georges Aperghis (with Davide Collu), Satz for 5 tom-toms by Bruno Giner, Apollo's Touch for solo vibraphone by Rodney Sharman and Kerberos for concert snare drum and voice by Sydney Hodkinson.

Originally from Sant'Andrea Frius, the twenty-six year old percussionist Silvia Cossu graduated with honors and special mention from the Conservatory of Cagliari before moving to Canepa. She collaborates with various ensembles and orchestras and is currently a Percussion teacher at the Istituto comprensivo di Tempio Pausania .
