There are 5 thousand cultural and creative businesses operating in Sardinia that offer work, directly or indirectly, to over 15 thousand people. The fields of activity are those of architecture, design, communication, audiovisual and music, creation of video games and software, publishing and printing, performing arts and visual arts and protection and enhancement of the historical, artistic and cultural heritage.

Number provided by the Confartigianato Imprese Sardegna Research Office through an analysis carried out on UnionCamere-Tagliacarne 2022 data.

The island, according to the ranking, occupies the fifth to last national place in terms of absolute number of activities: in first place is Lombardy with 58 thousand while in last place is Valle d'Aosta with 548, for a total of 275 thousand in all of Italy .

As regards the impact on the economy, the Sardinian realities are in last place with 2.9% of the added value of the island's economy while Lombardy is first with 6.6%, for a national average of 4. 5%.

But in Sardinia it is women and young people who focus more on culture to do business: of the total cultural businesses, 1 in 4 (24.5%) is female while 1 in 10 (10.2%) is led by less young people. 35 years old.

In both cases the percentage "weight" of women and young people is greater than the total number of companies, in which women's businesses are 22.2% and youth businesses are 8.7%.

On the other hand, businesses run by foreigners have a smaller impact, constituting 5.6% of the total cultural and creative businesses (compared to 10.8% overall).

It certainly doesn't do us honor to be in last place in terms of total number of activities and at the back of the national ranks in terms of impact on the regional economy, which is why we must support this sector."
