Positive signs for the job market in Sardinia come from Aspal, the regional agency specializing in employment: 2022 could be the year of the turning point.
The data of the latest report show that the main indicators are very similar and in some cases even higher than those of 2019, or the pre-pandemic period.
"The data in the report show a recovery in 2021 and this, albeit with all the caution of the case, bodes well for 2022. Aspal will continue to monitor the labor market and carry out all the policies necessary to consolidate this positive trend. "said Maika Aversano, general manager of Aspal.
The analysis highlights how the fixed-term positions, which in 2020 had recorded a decline of 22%, are clearly recovering in 2021 with a + 4%.
On the other hand, permanent positions remained unchanged, thanks to the blocking of layoffs and the massive use of layoffs.
The hotel and restaurant sector in 2020 is the one that has suffered the greatest decline (-8% compared to 2019), with a -1% in 2021. The industry is stable, while the construction sector has grown significantly, thanks to state incentives related to building bonuses: + 6% in 2020 and + 19% in 2021.
Female employment is increasingly penalized than male employment (-5% less for women and -2% for men in 2020) and tends to recover more slowly (0% against + 4% for men). The report also records good employment performance for those with higher educational qualifications.
From a geographical point of view, in 2020 the greatest decreases were detected in the tourist areas (Gallura, Baronia and coastal areas in general). In 2021 there was a marked improvement in the whole territory, with the exception of the Sulcis area.
