Public procurement is growing in Sardinia : from 4.8 billion in 2022 it rose to 6.7 billion last year . And the number of races went from 9,358 to 10,386.

The most significant data are those of works : from 1.5 billion in 2022 they reached 3.2 billion in 2023 (plus 113%), thanks to Pnrr interventions (especially school buildings and infrastructure) and supplies (plus 22.4 %). On the other hand, the amounts in the services sector decreased slightly (minus 1.8%), stopping at 1.3 billion, an almost stable value compared to 2022.

These are some of the numbers that emerged this morning at the Lazzaretto in Cagliari during the conference " A year of code: a first assessment " organized by the Enterprise Procurement desk of Sardegna Ricerche.

Among the aspects highlighted, the data on reductions are also significant, which on the island stand at around 17 percent, compared to the 14.2% national average, percentages down compared to the previous year.

A decreasing trend is consolidated in Sardinia, as in the rest of the country: it is the generalized effect of the increase in raw material prices.

Sardinian companies, to support the growing costs of construction, limit reductions in order to safeguard minimal profit margins. However , the number of participants in the races has risen from 6.8 in 2022 to 7.7 in the past year .

Companies therefore return to participate in public tenders, also as a result of the job opportunities provided by the Pnrr.

With reference to the overall times of the procurement cycle, the critical issues in the "pre-awarding" phase linked to the planning and planning of purchases are confirmed, with the greatest delays.

The data is also confirmed in Sardinia: the overall duration is 748 days and the planning alone takes an average of a year.
