"The comparison between 2019 and 2021, taking into account that among the registered companies, the hidden audience of those that have ceased is also counted, which awaiting refreshments, have not yet closed, however, outlines a serious difficulty in the sector in recovering the pre-Covid numbers -19 ”underlines Confartigianato itself.

"The 2020 of women entrepreneurs clearly suffered the effects of the pandemic - says the President of Confartigianato Imprese Sardegna, Maria Amelia Lai - the decline in the overall employment rate was particularly affected by the contraction relating to self-employed workers: among these, women they were more penalized ".

"This is also why we must commit ourselves to increasing the number of businesses led by women - continues Lai - and the lines of the Women's Business Fund (in the 2021 budget law, 40 million euros are integrated with a further 400 million, according to the provisions of the PNRR ), focus on investments; the first for the start-up of the activity and support for the birth of female enterprises while the second for the consolidation and strengthening of the financial and equity structure of female enterprises. The last point, on the other hand, is dedicated to programs and initiatives for the dissemination of female entrepreneurial culture and training and orientation programs
towards subjects and professions in which the presence of women is still marginal ".

Lai also underlines the two watchwords of female entrepreneurship in Sardinia, namely "fatigue and resilience".

"The hope that we can, and must, make us - concludes Lai - is that every woman can, in a short time, conquer what is most expensive for herself, such as: autonomy, respect, paid motherhood for
independent, cultural change, trust, consideration, sharing of care time, freedom of choice, not having to choose between work and family, protection, opportunities, security, equal skills, more time, no renunciation and peace of mind ".
