The personal exhibition “I twelve Graffi” reaches its eighteenth stage and opens on Friday 22 September in Porto Torres. The artist, the blacksmith-sculptor Roberto Ziranu, pays homage to his land through a one-of-a-kind exhibition: 12 portraits of as many characters who have made and continue to make Sardinia great outside the regional borders. Starting from Gigi Riva, up to Eleonora d'Arborea, and then also Costantino Nivola, Maria Carta, Paolo Pillonca, Giovanni Lilliu, Maria Lai, l'Accabbadora, Piero Sanna, Edina Altara and Andrea Parodi.

Prominent figures from the world of art and culture, sport and our identity, men and women who have influenced the artistic production of the artist for their charisma, for their career, for their history and for the aura of mystery that revolves around some figures. The works on display therefore represent a new achievement for the sculptor from Orana, a great connoisseur of ferrous matter.

The portraits are on iron plates using the unique engraving and embossing technique. The masterpieces on display enhance the soul of the ferrous material and empathize with the protagonists portrayed. Each work seems to come to life and interact with the space through chiaroscuro generated by the reflections of the engravings and the changes obtained from the thousands of hammerings, making each work a unique piece. The stages of this itinerary wind from the north to the south of Sardinia, taking in places that pay homage to the various protagonists who brought prestige to our island, and then continuing its journey in 2024 across the peninsula and beyond.

An ambitious project for an artist who wants to enhance his native land by interacting with all those administrations, foundations and private partners who believe in the role of art as a means for the dissemination of culture.
