The 22nd edition of “Ballos de Austu,” an international event held every August to celebrate traditional Sardinian dance, a key element of local culture and identity, began today in Nule's Piazza del Popolo.

During the event, the streets and squares of Nule come alive with folk dances, accompanied by the music of traditional Sardinian instruments such as the "launeddas" and the diatonic accordion. Participants, dressed in traditional costumes, perform ancient dances, such as "su ballu tundu" and "su passu torrau," passed down through generations. The event is an opportunity to discover the area and admire, in dedicated exhibitions, the textures and colors of the carpets, products of absolute excellence of the island's artistic craftsmanship.

In Via San Paolo, until August 4th, you can visit - from 10am to 1pm and from 4pm to 8pm - the exhibition “Contami”, dedicated to traditional carpets and dresses,

The initiative is by the cultural association “Su Furione”, in collaboration with the Municipality of Nule.
