Ilaria Portas, Councilor for Education and Cultural Heritage of the Sardinia Region, will be present to underscore the institutional and civic significance of the conference that the Municipality of Luras is dedicating to Andrea Lentini, a symbolic figure of local anti-fascism. The event is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, April 24, at 5:00 PM.
"Andrea Lentini, Antifascist from Lure: Memory, History, and Civic Commitment" is the title of the initiative, which aims to restore centrality to a human and political story that has too often been marginalized in historical narrative. Through the contributions of scholars and researchers, the conference will reconstruct Lentini's profile, offering the public an in-depth understanding of the context in which he operated and the choices that shaped his career.
After Mayor Leonardo Lutzoni's greetings and an introduction by Lino Carta and Alberto Lentino, the proceedings will get underway with Hansel Cabiddu, Piergiorgio Pinna, and Ottavio Olita, who will address various aspects of Lentini's life, including his personal life, political commitment, and collective memory. Also significant will be the testimonies of Donatella Lentini Mineo, granddaughter of Andrea Lentini, and Elena Matteotti, granddaughter of Giacomo Matteotti, the Socialist MP assassinated by the Fascists in 1924. The closing remarks will be delivered by Regional Councilor Portas.
