On Tuesday 5 September in Santiago de Chile , at the Museo de la Memoria e de los Derechos Humanos , a day will be held in memory of the Sardinian poet, journalist, translator, Hispanist, politician and human rights activist, Ignazio Delogu . The event as part of the demonstrations organized for the 50th anniversary of the coup of September 11, 1973.

The program includes the presentation and screening of the documentary by director Marco Antonio Pani " Ignatius, a story of struggle, love and work ". The feature film, in its international premiere, was produced in 2022 by the Humanitarian Society-Cineteca Sarda and the Friends of the Carbonia Mine association. The film traces all the stages of Delogu's life, with an important insight into the era of the coup d'etat by General Augusto Pinochet.

Following the tragic event, Delogu dedicated 18 years of his life to the Latin American country , fighting for the return of democracy. He was also among the founders and first secretary general of the Italy-Chile Association, which united the Italian parliamentary forces in the action of concrete help and awareness against the atrocities that were perpetrated in that country by the dictatorship.
