The G7 of labor in Cagliari.

The ministers and delegations of the seven most industrialized countries in the world (Italy, Canada, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States and Japan) are arriving in Cagliari today for the international summit that will officially begin tomorrow and end on Friday.

The aim of the summit will be to discuss global challenges regarding employment, with a particular focus on three main themes, namely:

  • a human-centric development and use of artificial intelligence in the world of work
  • Resilient labor markets in ageing societies
  • responsive, flexible and inclusive skills, lifelong learning policies and systems

Delegations will begin settling in from today at a number of hotels, notably the T-Holte and the Tirso, with official sessions taking place at the Palazzo Regio, while evening events will be held at the Admiralty, starting with a gala dinner scheduled for Thursday evening.

For the event, the city is under lockdown and some traffic and parking restrictions are in place.

The Minister of Labor Marina Calderone will be hosting the event in “her” Sardinia.
