Cagliari hosts a double musical evening tonight, performed by Liliya Akhmetzyanova, the pianist at the Teatro Doglio. She will perform two consecutive concerts dedicated to two very different musical worlds: the intimate and contemporary world of Ludovico Einaudi and the pop world of Michael Jackson.

The first event is scheduled for 7:30 pm and features a tribute to Einaudi's compositions. At 9:30 pm, the pianist will return to the stage to perform a repertoire dedicated to Michael Jackson. Two distinct programs, therefore, united by the choice to entrust the piano with music created for different contexts and languages.

The first concert includes some of Einaudi's best-known pieces, from "I Giorni" to "Le Onde," from "Nuvole Bianche" to "Una Mattina," and even "Divenire" and "Fly." The lineup also includes "Primavera," "In Un'Altra Vita," and "Elegy for the Arctic." This is a repertoire in which the piano plays a central role, and in which melody and repetition become defining elements of the Italian composer's writing.

After a short break, at 9:30 pm, Akhmetzyanova will tackle Michael Jackson's repertoire. The setlist spans various phases of the American singer's career: from "I Want You Back" and "Rock With You" to "Billie Jean," "Human Nature," and "Smooth Criminal," all the way to "Bad," "Black or White," "Thriller," and "Earth Song." Also featured are "Man in the Mirror," "Heal the World," "Remember the Time," "They Don't Really Care About Us," and "We Are the World."

The evening's uniqueness also lies in the instrumental reinterpretation of these songs. Songs deeply rooted in Jackson's voice, production, and stage presence are stripped back to their melodic component through a performance entrusted exclusively to the piano. It's therefore a different perspective than listening to the original versions, which foregrounds the melodies and harmonic structures of the compositions.

For Liliya Akhmetzyanova it is therefore a double test in the same evening , with the transition from an essential repertoire strongly linked to the piano such as that of Einaudi to a set of pieces from the history of international pop.

The two concerts will take place at the Teatro Doglio, with the hall illuminated by candlelight, as part of the traveling Candlelight Concert Festival organized by Fever Up, a format that aims to create an intimate atmosphere around the musical performance, the sole protagonist of the evening along with the audience, who will be able to appreciate the interpretative nuances of the virtuoso of Russian origins who moved to Italy from a very young age.
