Nine million euros allocated by the Region to the Municipality of Cagliari for the collection of non-domestic waste but related to public activities: those that generate the phenomenon of "littering". "Money given away by the Todde Council to the progressive mayor friend, Massimo Zedda". The accusation comes from the regional councilor of Fratelli d'Italia, Cristina Usai.
"A shameful decision that arbitrarily considers the citizens of Cagliari as privileged to the detriment of all other Sardinians and gives a moral slap to the virtuous Municipalities that respect and enforce the rules, shouldering the costs of managing the wild abandonment of waste and clean-ups", is the attack.
The funds were included in the Finance Bill being discussed in the Regional Council through an amendment by the Executive Committee on a "contribution relating to the management of urban waste in the regional capital".
"In addition to doubting the legitimacy of this rule, given that by law the cost of the Tari must be covered by citizens' payments, the report of the Council is seriously flawed", attacks the Melonian representative, who continues: "The problems deriving from "littering" concern many other Municipalities, in particular the coastal ones that during the summer season suffer a heavy increase in the anthropic load due to the tourist presence".
In the Chamber, the withdrawal of the amendment was requested "as it is unfair and punitive towards virtuous Municipalities and citizens, or alternatively to set an adequate contribution for all administrations, but the center-left did not accept our proposal. A huge gift generated within the same political coalition which, as was well understood from the attitude of the majority, is part of a post-election promise".
