Tomorrow evening, Saturday 8 July, free screening for everyone in Piazza Risorgimento, at 9 pm, with the awarding of the most beautiful short films of the XXI edition of the Weekly Competition of Cinemadamare 2023.

In recent days, the Gallura municipality has been the open-air set of short films by young filmmakers from over 40 different countries, from all continents. The young participants in the Kermesse - it is written in a press release - have done justice to the peculiar locations of the wonderful town of the Costa Smeralda: not only have they let themselves be inspired by the breathtaking maritime settings, but they have also discovered and re-interpreted the various city beauties such as the Staircase of Santa Lucia, the "Roccia Il Fungo" and the Nuraghe Albucciu. They then collaborated with the population in order to complete their short films in time for tonight's screening.

"I am very happy to have brought this cultural initiative to Arzachena, an international format linked to the world of cinema, but above all linked to the world of young people", says the councilor responsible for culture, Valentina Geromino. «Seeing and hearing boys and girls from so many different nations discussing the passion that unites them was really exciting and they immediately showed great curiosity and interest in our territory, renowned for its natural beauty and its thousand-year history . I can't wait to discover tonight the works of these young filmmakers, the fruit of their commitment and their creativity».

The directors who shot their films throughout Sardinia in the last week come from: 2 from the USA, 2 from France, 1 from India, 1 from Brazil, 1 from Luxembourg, 1 from Argentina, 1 from Croatia, 1 from Chile, 1 from Ireland, 1 from Kenya, 1 from Estonia, 1 from Turkey, 1 from Russia and 1 from Italy.
