«During the pandemic we found ourselves alone in our true home – the body – where the main tangible temporal dimension is the present» explains Sofia Nappi. “Ima” is a choreography born when Covid forced social distancing. He arrives on the island for four evenings as part of the “La Grande Danza” event proposed by CeDac Sardegna.
The Sosta Palmizi and Komoko/Sofia Nappi production inaugurates the Sardinian tour tomorrow at 9pm at the AMA / Multidisciplinary Auditorium in Arzachena. On Friday, again at 9pm, the Teatro del Carmine in Tempio will host the show. Saturday appointment at the "Oriana Fallaci" Civic Theater in Ozieri and Sunday closing at the Costantino Theater in Macomer .
“Ima” it refers to the Japanese term to define "the present moment" but also, in a curious assonance, to the word which in Aramaic and Hebrew means "mother". As the choreographer explains: «In its meaning of rebirth and renewal it is an imaginative dance work rich in symbols, the transfiguration of a dramatic and traumatic era that can lead to physical and spiritual regeneration».
