Riyad Idrissi has signed a new contract with Cagliari Calcio until June 30, 2030.

Left back, born in 2005, Idrissi grew up in the Rossoblu youth system after arriving there through the Academy.

Originally from Sadali, where his Moroccan family settled before he was born, Idrissi is a testament to the work Cagliari does with local youth, working both sportingly and socially across the island to develop their talents for the first team and at the highest international levels.

At the beginning of September 2025 he made his debut for the Italy Under 21 team (playing number 5 against Montenegro and number 9 against Macedonia) after having made 7 appearances for the Under 20s and 2 for the Under 19s.

"Integrity and constant growth have characterized his young career so far, culminating in him wearing the captain's armband for the Rossoblu Under 20 team (63 appearances, 4 goals, and 7 assists), before enjoying his first professional season with Modena in Serie B. It was an important year with 29 appearances and 1 goal (on October 6, 2024 in Catanzaro), during which he confirmed his running skills, personality, and technique with his left foot in his own lane."

The summer of 2025 is the summer of his return to the rossoblù for the coveted leap into the first team.

On August 16th he made his debut as a starter in the round of 32 of the Coppa Italia against Virtus Entella, and a week later he made his Serie A debut in the final of Cagliari-Fiorentina at the Unipol Domus.

A shirt sewn onto me since I was a child, to be honored still.
