How much water to drink per day?

To estimate how much water everyone should drink in a day, it is first of all necessary, with a global reasoning, to take into account how much water we take in through the various drinks and what instead comes from the food we eat .

Hydrating adequately is certainly a first step towards staying healthy , but calculating the amount of water to drink every day depends on a series of factors, the main ones being age, gender (men generally have a water exchange), weight, physical activity and the characteristics of the environment in which we live (mainly humidity and temperature).

However, based on what scientific studies tell us, we can make an estimate considering as a basis about 30 ml x kg of body weight of water per day , balancing the excess figure with about 2 more glasses per day for those who follow a moderate physical activity and 4-5 more glasses for those who carry out intense physical activity. In any case, it happens too often to talk about the essentiality of proteins and other macronutrients: so I take this opportunity to remind you that the first essential nutrient for our body is water!
