A fall not from the saddle but from an economic one for the most famous jockey in the world, nicknamed "the King". Lanfranco "Frankie" Dettori has declared bankruptcy. The fault of a dispute with the British tax authorities. As he explained to the press: "I am saddened and embarrassed. My consultants have not found a solution with the tax authorities. Bankruptcy is a major decision and the consequences will affect my life for many years."

Son of Gianfranco Dettori da Serramanna, Frankie dominated racing in the homeland of thoroughbreds for years, winning the most prestigious races several times, such as the Epson Derby, the Royal Ascot (the last one in 2023 where he was awarded by King Charles) and the 2000 Guineas. He was a hit several times at the Arc de Triomphe, and also won on other continents, in Japan, the USA, the United Arab Emirates and South Africa.

It is estimated that in his career he has won over 20 million euros. He had retired in the United States, but at this point he could get back in the saddle to win (and earn) again.
