Healthcare, the Bartolazzi case explodes: "A wide field, a ship adrift."
A flurry of reactions follows the councilor's statements with the suitcase. FdI attacks. Sardegna20venti: "They should apologize to the Sardinians." The unions: "We're on the brink." The USB: "The time for words is over."Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
He said he will no longer be a councilor because "from what I know, the conditions are no longer there." That when Alessandra Todde takes over his interim office, the deteriorated healthcare system "will remain as it is." But he also said "I have more support in the opposition than within. Within the government, there's a race for positions." And within, that means in Campo Largo. But he also emphasized that "I came here at the expense of money and away from my children. But for me, it was a challenge. You'll never have an opportunity like this again."
Perhaps when Armando Bartolazzi called himself the "Thunderclap of Healthcare," he wasn't aware of the backlash he would provoke. He certainly knew what would happen if he gave the interview published today in Unione Sarda , while he was a councilor with a suitcase.
Not a single voice from her coalition was raised until the afternoon. Immaculate silence from the president, (apparent) torpor from her allies.
Instead, the opposition is unleashing its forces. "Councilor Bartolazzi's words, despite his unsolicited messianic beliefs, not only confirm what we've long maintained, but also confirm the 'ship adrift' climate of the president and Campo Largo," attacks Paolo Truzzu, leader of the Brothers of Italy group in the Regional Council. The former gubernatorial candidate offers his perspective on the situation: "As the budget is being debated, we have the Agriculture councilor (Gianfranco Satta) who has resigned, and his well-known replacement (Francesco Agus) who hasn't yet been appointed. The Health councilor is still on board, but has been dismissed by the president herself, who has also announced that he will remain in the interim position for six to eight months. We all know that 24 hours aren't enough to be either Health councilor or president. Imagine both roles." Truzzu looks further and also speaks of a "president who, in the midst of the campaign for public water, not only tries to shift responsibility for Abbanoa's future decisions onto the 'poor' mayors, but even decides to support and vote for the center-right candidate (Fabio Albieri) as president of the Area Committee against the center-left mayors." Now, Truzzu concludes, "if any Commander De Falco , a former Five Star Movement senator, were around, I think he wouldn't hesitate for a second to shout 'Get on board, you asshole!'"
According to Stefano Tunis, of Sardegna 20Venti, "There are two possibilities. Either the most important part of our administration has been entrusted to an unsuitable figure, or he is telling the truth and is sacrificing his health in the name of partition. Both possibilities are equally horrifying. Both require a profound apology from the Sardinian community."
Another candidate for regional president, Lucia Chessa, also commented: "Have a good trip, councilor, and congratulations to Alessandra Todde, who, on the other hand, continues to swim undaunted in this sea. Completely at ease, with ease, comfortably conforming to her connottu, and the worst one at that. As was largely predictable. And so the years pass for this Sardinia. One president after another, one government after another, one majority after another, in an empty alternation with no alternative."
Yesterday, the CGIL, CISL, and UIL unions had their say, before Bartolazzi's statements. In a joint statement, secretaries Fausto Durante, Pier Luigi Ledda, and Fulvia Murru attacked the government: "The August agreements have been betrayed," they said in summary, "nothing has changed: a change of pace is needed now, or it will be a fight." They argued that Sardinia cannot afford a period of uncertainty on the healthcare front: it has been served.
USB's Gianfranco Angioni, representing the union, also raised his voice: "It would be serious if the change in the councilors were decided solely on the basis of the imminent appointment of new general directors, rather than on the genuine need to improve and renew the island's healthcare system. It's time to stop with empty words and self-praise," Angioni added. "We need immediate hiring, staff stabilization, and a rapid advancement of the rankings. Investing in hospitals, emergency networks, and community services is essential to guaranteeing public healthcare for all. The time for words is over. Sardinia deserves an efficient healthcare system and adequate resources. Healthcare cannot be reduced to slogans and unfulfilled promises. No one should be left without care. Bartolazzi should apologize to the citizens and healthcare workers, not for leaving his position, but for failing to improve the healthcare situation."
