The Regional Council continues to discuss the financial documents to be approved before the summer. Yesterday, the budget was approved, and this afternoon the €1.5 billion budget adjustment begins.
This morning, the Assembly was considering the budget adjustment, approved by the House: a €510 million surplus for 2025. Of this, €318 million will be allocated to replenishing the budgets of healthcare companies. The opposition disputes that the majority could have invested a full 60% of this surplus elsewhere.
According to FdI deputy group leader Fausto Piga, the local health authority deficit was €216 million in 2025. Therefore, "the gap has widened by 47%."
"Last year," he told the Chamber, " the mainstream media was crying disaster and using that data as a veritable crowbar to support the thesis that the local health authority managers (appointed by the center-right) should be removed for accounting incompetence. However, a comparison shows that the disaster was caused by the managers appointed by President Todde."
