After weeks of tension, the first clearing has arrived. The Democratic Party and the Five Star Movement are attempting to dialogue and find a shared method for addressing the critical issues on the healthcare front .
A new role for Ares , the regional health authority, less rigid and more functional to the strengthening of the Local Health Authorities, the acceleration of the spending of PNRR funds for community homes and hospitals and, in general, the functioning of territorial medicine, the reduction of waiting lists : these are just some of the issues addressed today in a long technical meeting by the president and interim councilor Alessandra Todde (with her also the director general of the department Schael and the chief of staff Ferreli) and the secretary of the Democratic Party Silvio Lai with the president of the Health Commission Carla Fundoni.
Both sides spoke of a "positive meeting and full agreement on priorities and the legislative and organizational actions to be implemented. " What priorities? "The need to complete ongoing projects funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) for an adequate territorial network, guarantee essential levels of hospital and prevention care, address waiting lists with targeted interventions, and support healthcare and support workers."
The meeting was held in the offices on Viale Trento. Upon his return to the Regional Council building, Fundoni spoke of "a very positive meeting on the many pressing healthcare issues. There is unity of purpose between the Democratic Party and the president, and renewed collaboration between the Department of Health and the Health Commission." It was, however, an interlocutory meeting "that will be rescheduled, because there are so many healthcare-related issues. However, it is a good starting point for providing the answers that healthcare providers and patients are waiting for."
