It risks stalling the progress of the regional budget, due to be debated next Tuesday. Any possibility of agreement among the opposing sides for rapid approval is crumbling after the heated hearing on the managers of the health authorities, led by Governor Todde, who served as interim councilor.

The opposition insists that the lack of respect towards the Council was too serious, holding it responsible for failing to amend the law on commissioners, which was later struck down by the Constitutional Court : "I believe it was institutional sloppiness," reiterated Paolo Truzzu, leader of the FDI group, "so Todde should apologize to the Assembly and especially to the majority councilors."

Regional Council President Piero Comandini poured oil on the controversy : "I am aware of the recognition of the president's role in the Council, given that she herself is a regional councilor," Comandini said, "so there is no need for any defense, but we must move forward and collaborate for the good of Sardinia."
