Lorenzo Di Stefano's hat-trick turned the game around like a glove: at the "Vanni Sanna" stadium, Torres recovered and overtook Ostiamare by beating them 3-2. This crucial victory brought serenity to the standings after a controversial match, which saw the visitors take the lead on a 15th-minute penalty from Parigini: Tonin escaped Antonelli, entered the box, and was brought down by Pennington. Parigini fired a well-placed shot, sending Zaccagno the wrong way. The Sassari team appealed for a penalty in the 19th minute after Di Stefano was hit while shooting in front of goal, but to no avail. They won the penalty almost at the end after nearly scoring a second goal (Antonelli blocked Tonin's shot on the line): Lunghi, moved to the right, entered the box and was brought down. Scotto kicked, but without much force: Vertua sensed it and blocked it on the ground.

In the second half, Mastinu and then Bunino came on. Di Stefano turned the game around in two minutes: in the 65th minute, he picked up a short clearance and fired a diagonal shot from the edge of the box, then, on a brilliant counterattack by Scotto, he accelerated and scored his second on the run.

Ostiamare tried to get back into the game with a powerful shot from substitute Spinosa, but it went wide. In the 88th minute, substitute Bunino broke away in the penalty area and provided the assist for Di Stefano from the edge of the box to make it three. It wasn't over, though, as Badjé headed the ball back immediately afterward, and Torres and the fans had to suffer a few extra minutes before the final whistle.
