Few performers in the history of cinema have proved so charismatic, long-lived and have been able to imprint themselves so deeply in the common imagination as happened for Harrison Ford. The Hollywood star contributed between the seventies and nineties to some of the greatest successes in the sector : with characters such as Han Solo from "Star Wars", Rick Deckard from "Blade Runner" and obviously the inevitable Indiana Jones based on the saga of the same name - now in its fifth chapter currently in theaters - the well-known interpreter has also enjoyed throughout his prolific career an Oscar nomination and four Golden Globes , as well as countless warm proofs of appreciation from the fans over the years.

On the occasion of his eighty-first birthday, the production company LucasFilm, with which the star has collaborated for a long time, thought of making a celebratory video of his fruitful career which, together with short excerpts from the most successful films, intertwines the enthusiastic considerations of industry experts such as George Lucas and Phoebe Waller-Bridge - praising his talent and his high scenic impact - also including unpublished scenes taken from the sets and various moments of levity shared together with filming mates.

The various film-makers involved and also the producer Kathleen Kennedy dwell at length on the singular talents of the interpreter, as well as on her strong personality capable of winning the attention and breaking through the hearts of the spectators. For Kennedy - head of LucasFilm - it will be impossible to find a worthy replacement in the future who can adequately replace the star, since in his opinion - simply - he does not exist.

And again, another big name like Antonio Banderas and director James Mangold, who inherited the direction of the saga of "Indiana Jones", wanted to share in the video all the enthusiasm for having collaborated with Ford in the latest feature film in which he participates.

And as with all things, even the last chapter of Indiana Jones definitely brings the curtain down on the historic film series, at least as regards Ford's participation in the role of the magnetic professor whom we always remember in the company of the trusty hat and armed with a whip.

Among the many curiosities related to his past, it was such an unusual outfit that did not initially convince the actor ; in fact, during an interview with GQ magazine, he recounted his lack of conviction in having seen the costume for the first time. As soon as he noticed the leather jacket, whip and fedora hat the actor wondered: «It was presented to me as an aspect of the character in the first film. I had many questions. Why was I wearing a leather jacket in the jungle? Isn't it hot there? Why am I carrying a whip? What was I supposed to do with a fucking whip? Would I hit people?” To similar questions, the team replied that his style should evoke the classic one of period films, reason enough for Ford to introject the choices of the costume designers and make them his own, with the sensational result that we all know well by now.
