Chick Corea's guitarist, Frank Gambale , will be the guest star at the "Tribute to Miles" event. On Sunday at 11 a.m., with a repeat performance at 6 p.m., the Teatro Civico in Sassari will host the opening of the 24th edition of the "(To) be in jazz – I Concerti Aperitivo" festival, which will feature the Sardinian Jazz Orchestra joined by several international stars.

For this original production, which opens the festival, the pianist, arranger and composer Pino Jodice has elaborated a tribute to Miles Davis , a monument of contemporary music, proposing   An absolute gem: for the first time in the world , the entire repertoire of the album Kind of Blue has been arranged for a big band.

Making this event truly unique is the presence of Grammy Award- winning guitarist Frank Gambale , known for over 35 years of collaboration with Chick Corea's Elektric Band, as well as John Patitucci, Dave Weckl and Return to Forever IV. The concerts will also include songs from Davis's electric phase, such as Human Nature and Tutu .

The event is organized by the Blue Note Orchestra/Jazz Orchestra of Sardinia Association, in co-production with the Teatro e/o Musica Cooperative

The 11 a.m. concert will conclude with a presentation and tasting of products from the F.lli Pinna Agricultural Company of Ittiri and the S'ischimadorza – Olivicoltori Ittiresi Association, in collaboration with Ue.Coop.
