Great final day at the Medas theater in Guasila for the Festival dell'Altrove, the kermesse directed by Matteo Porru and desired by the Municipality of Guasila led by Mayor Paola Casula.
During the third and final day of the literary festival, the winners of the Giulio Angioni Literary Award will be announced, now in its eighth edition and divided this year into the sections Poetry, Non-Fiction, Published and Unpublished Fiction, and Lifetime Achievement Award.
The trio of finalists for the Nonfiction section is composed of Adriano Favole, “La via Selvaggia” (Laterza); Emanuel Pierobon, “Kissinger against Allende. The story of the coup of the century” (Castelvecchi); Loreta Minutilli, “The Weavers. Mythology of Information Technology” (Effequ).
The finalists for the Published Fiction section are Giovanni Bitetto, “Sacro niente” (Voland), Daniela Raimondi, “Il primo sole dell'estate” (Nord) and Piero Malagoli, “Nel remorse che provaremo” (Spartaco).
11 titles are competing for the Unpublished Fiction award: “I Loved”, “The Unfaithful Mirror”, “Fortunato”, “Calma piatto”, “Il mormorio”, “Il nonno”, “Giovanni Limiti, a Very Unlucky Writer”, “Il prontuario”, “Il vestito con ti ho dimenticamo”, “La mappa dell'Altrove” and “Le bicicletta di Eva”.
The names of the authors and the Poetry Prize will be revealed during today's awards ceremony scheduled for 7 pm.
The organization has announced the names of the Lifetime Achievement Award, attributed to the journalist Giacomo Mameli, and the Special Award, assigned to the famous and much-loved television presenter, actress and author Geppi Cucciari who this week revived on Rai3 the highly successful format “Splendida Cornice”, the prime time show that has received excellent ratings and unanimous acclaim from the public and critics.
The Festival dell'Altrove, an event dedicated to books and more, was born to promote reading, knowledge and valorization of cultural heritage with meetings, workshops and readings with guests of national and international fame, protagonists of literature, essays, journalism in dialogue with the most characteristic places of Guasila, is bixinaus, with an eye always turned towards Sardinia and the Mediterranean.
Before the evening ceremony, two afternoon appointments.
At 5 pm, a round table coordinated by Matteo Porru on Giulio Angioni and the legacy he left in Italian literature. Dino Manca from the University of Sassari and Duilio Caocci from the University of Cagliari will participate.
Then, at 6 pm, the protagonist will be Tommaso Giartosio, finalist for the 2024 Strega Prize with his "Autobiogrammatica" published by Minimum Fax, a surprising autobiography that intertwines family and intimate events with the history of language.
The final act will be entrusted, after the awards gala, to one of the most celebrated actresses of the Italian theatre, Isabella Ragonese, who will read pages by Giulio Angioni taken from "Doppio Cielo".
