The hill of Santa Maria Maddalena hosted the presentation of "Femmenella," Davide Piras's latest novel, published by Piemme. A well-attended and intense evening, organized by the Guamaggiore Municipal Library and coordinated by Anna Paola Contini, brought together readers and enthusiasts in one of the town's most evocative settings. The focus of the event was the author's new work, a novel that transports readers back to the Fascist years and tells the story of Manu and Andrea, two young people whose love grapples with the rigidity and discrimination of a particularly dramatic period in history.
Readings and reflections accompanied the audience as they discovered the pages of the book.
"There are literary gatherings that are particularly important, and the reason is simple: the beauty of the book being presented," observed Rita Pireddu during her conversation with the author. Making the evening even more engaging were the musical performances of Mimmo Cannova from Barumini, Gianni Frau from Guamaggiore, and Tina Cosseddu from Guasila. Accompanied by guitar, the three choir members provided the audience with moments of genuine emotion, contributing to a particularly evocative atmosphere.
