Cannonau di Sardegna triumphed at the 14th edition of Grenaches du Monde . At the prestigious international competition held in Argelès-sur-Mer, southern France, the jury awarded three Double Golds, or scores above 96 hundredths, 22 golds, and 12 silvers: a total of 37 awards for the island, out of 47 awarded to national wines.

The highest recognition was awarded to the Argiolas Winery of Serdiana   (with Arjola 2025, Cannonau di Sardegna Rosato Doc and also Senes 2022, Cannonau di Sardegna Riserva Doc) and Cantin a di Santadi with Festa Noria, liqu wine non-vintage gold.

In the homeland of rosé, a Sardinian-made rosé has also climbed to the top step of the podium. "This demonstrates that even Cannonau rosé can be recognized as an excellent product and therefore hold its own against the great rosés from much more renowned areas for the production of this type, opening up new commercial opportunities," comments Mariano Murru , president of Assoenologi Sardegna.

The award-winning wines hail from diverse areas of the island and were appreciated for their diverse winemaking styles, from classic, structured reds to fresh, fruity wines, dessert wines, fortified wines, and sparkling wines. "These styles open up new horizons and appeal to a new consumer audience, especially young ones," adds Murru.
