Green Chemistry, united front: the document for the relaunch of the supply chain has been signed
«Eni's involvement is now necessary»A historic date for the relaunch of the Green Chemistry project . In the Angioy room of the Provincial Palace of Sassari, all the institutions (Municipalities of Sassari, Porto Torres and Alghero, Province of Sassari) and the social partners (Confindustria Centro Nord Sardegna , Consorzio industriale provinciale di Sassari, Cgil, Cisl, Uil) involved in the project that aimed at the " industrial reconversion of the Porto Torres chemical plant ", making the industrial area of Sassari and Porto Torres one of the "development sites of the green and circular economy on which the relaunch of the country is based", as written in the signed protocol, were brought together by the President of the Region, Alessandra Todde. All the parties shared how the construction of the seven plants planned at the time stopped due to "some institutional responsibilities".
"Now that Versalis, part of the Eni group, has acquired the shares of its subsidiary Novamont in Matrica - President Todde specified - with the adequate legislative support desired by the Draghi government in 2022, investments can be restarted. Now the direct involvement of Eni is necessary , which must make concrete commitments on an industrial plan, on investments and on a timetable shared with the Government".
"Today, an essential interlocutor is missing ," Cani remarked, "namely, the national government, which has precise responsibilities on this issue and will have to provide concrete answers . This territory must be able to dialogue with the government with determination, asking for a clear timetable for the relaunch of green chemistry and avoiding uncertainties and ambiguous positions. It is essential to bring the issue back to the right table."
