In the former Capuchin convent, one of the historical architectural masterpieces of Ploaghe, a great success of the exhibition-workshop created by the Lurese painter Salvatore Puggioni and Maria Franca Vargiu, a native of Ploaghe.

The two artists, in love with colors, nature and beauty, for several days, activated a painting workshop , which was attended by students of all ages and which ended with the delivery of certificates of participation during the final evening. .

At the same time they set up an exhibition in the cloister with their respective canvases , which well represent their pictorial technique. Salvatore Puggioni, son of the well-known artist Pinuccio Puggioni and pupil of the painter Lorenzo Salice, aka Bonifacio OSB, exhibited his floral creatures, marines and his favorite subjects: horses. Skilled and wise magician of color, Puggioni fills his works with structured, decisive colors, without shades or blends. An explosion of liveliness that allows him to play, invent and re-study landscapes.

Maria Franca Vargiu instead represented the soul in the eyes of infants and exotic girls. Color is always the protagonist, this time without anything informal. The stroke is in fact sure and sweet, it frames faces, looks and postures of great realistic effect. Years of experience, children's dreams, memories of travels and casual encounters were depicted in the exhibition.

It is a summary of the lives of two painters , much appreciated and respected, who have chosen Ploaghe to convey a message of great impact. The students of the workshop, who for three days followed the advice and techniques of the masters, let themselves be guided in a splendid immersion in author painting, eager to repeat the experience again next year. The laboratory exhibition was sponsored by the Municipality of Ploaghe.
