The Sardinian squad has been reduced from three players to two. Dolianova forward Sasha Grant has left the Livorno training camp due to a muscle strain. Sassari point guard Marco Spissu (playing for Zaragoza) and Dinamo big man Luca Vincini remain, despite coach Luca Banchi's squad being strengthened with the additions of point guard Mannion, point guard Flaccadori, and guard Tonut, all of whom are playing in the Coppa Italia with Milan.

There are now 13 players available, and the Italian coach will have to decide who to leave out for Friday's World Cup qualifier against Great Britain in Newcastle upon Tyne. Given the absence of Alipivot, Vincini's chances of being called up are very high, given that he played in this role for Banco di Sardegna after Rashawn Thomas' injury.

As for Spissu, there are four players in his position: Flaccadori, Mannion (who is actually more of a guard), and the new arrival Calzavara. The only pure point guard is the Sassari native.

The competition for the return match against the British team, which will be played in Livorno on Monday, will increase because Ricci, Procida, Niang, Diouf, Akele and Ferrari will also be arriving.
