The world of entertainment is mourning the death of Philippe Leroy yesterday in Rome.

The French actor was 93 years old and had been ill for some time.

Born in Paris in October 1930, Leroy was a true "sacred monster" of cinema and television, with 200 appearances in films and dramas, from "The Hole" by Jacques Becker (1960) to his latest successes in the role of bishop in the very popular fiction "Don

Matteo” with Terence Hill.

His latest work on the big screen was in 2019, with "The night is small for us" by Francesco Lazotti. However, one of his best-known and unforgettable roles is that of Yanez in Sandokan for TV in the late seventies.
