Sporting Sardinia, not just swimming, mourns Paolo Pettinau. The “Professor”, as everyone called him, passed away at the age of 84. Until the end, his attention was for Promogest, the company he had created, together with the Swimming Centre, in Quartu and to which he dedicated the entire last part of his life.

A very strong swimmer (also in the Fiamme Oro), then, after also graduating from ISEF in Rome, also a technician, he grew up in Rari Nantes Cagliari, before moving to rival Esperia. Before returning to Su Siccu, he had also founded Rari Nantes Sardegna and, finally, in 1991, Promogest, the creation he had always dreamed of and of which he remained president until the end. He had also been president of the Regional Committee of the Federnuoto for several terms.

He leaves two children, Roberto and Lidia.
