On the Island since the summer of 2023, Scuffet made his debut in rossoblù on October 8 in the home game against Roma. Last season he played 31 games, giving his important contribution to the conquest of permanence in the top division. Seriousness and professionalism at the service of the team, in this first phase of the season he has taken the field 15 times. With his precious saves he was among the protagonists of the last game, won away 2-1 against Monza. Good continuation of the season, Simone".
The team is therefore «pleased to announce the purchase of the rights to the sporting performances of the footballer Elia Caprile who is moving from Napoli on loan until the end of the 2024-25 sporting season with the right to redeem» .
Born in Verona, class of 2001, «the new rossoblù goalkeeper grew up in the Chievo youth teams. In January 2020 he was bought by the English team Leeds United: here, in addition to immediately entering the first team, he defended the goalposts of the Under 23 of the “Whites”, contributing to the victory of the category championship. In the summer of 2021 he returned to Italy on loan to the ranks of Pro Patria (Serie C), where he made his debut among the professionals: he played 39 games and collected 13 clean sheets, among the architects of reaching the second round of the Playoffs. The following season he was thus bought by Bari, in Serie B. In Puglia he was one of the absolute revelations of the tournament: in 43 games he kept a clean sheet 16 times and led the team with his saves to the return leg of the Playoffs, surrendering only to the goal scored by Pavoletti in the 94th minute».
His performances led him to earn the jump in category: «In July 2023 he was purchased by Napoli who, at the same time, loaned him to Empoli. On August 19 he made his debut in Serie A: he played 24 games and made a fundamental contribution to the Tuscans' salvation, with mister Nicola on the bench. Having returned to base last summer, he made his debut in goal with the Neapolitans on September 21, in Juventus-Napoli 0-0. Between the championship and the Italian Cup in this first part of the season he played 6 games, in 4 he did not concede goals. He played with the U18 youth national team, then in the U21, with whom he made his debut on September 26, 2022 in Italy-Japan 0-0. Despite his imposing physical size - he is 191 centimeters tall - Caprile is agile and reactive. Safe between the posts, he combines his technique with his innate explosive strength. A modern goalkeeper, skilled in low and high exits, he is also good with his feet, a quality that when necessary allows him to participate in the construction of the game from the back or to restart the action quickly. Personality, reliability and desire to grow: welcome to Sardinia, Elia!
