Amphitheaters, Weapons and Armours, Daily Life and Roman Sardinia. These are the four sections that tell the ancient history of the gladiators in the exhibition that Barumini is enthralling every day by the many visitors who want to discover the history of the men who hid behind the helmets and armor that have become legends. A journey into the world of these fighters in all aspects of their lives, including curiosities and secrets, thanks to the exhibition entitled: " Gladiators and Ancient Rome in Sardinia: Myth, history and artistic representation ". The appointment is the result of the fruitful collaboration between the Barumini Sistema Cultura Foundation , the Municipality of Barumini , the National Archaeological Museum of Naples (Mann) and the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the metropolitan city of Cagliari and the provinces of Oristano and South Sardinia .

On display at the Giovanni Lilliu Center for Communication and Promotion of Cultural Heritage are the many finds such as greaves and helmets, weapons and pottery used in daily life (ceramics, ladles, bronzes, mugs and glass bottles). But the visitor can also admire the tools for well-being and body care, oil lamps with the depiction of a gladiator. There is also a high definition print of some wall paintings found in the houses of Pompeii representative of the amphitheater and food. All elements, accompanied by videos on amphitheatres, armor and on the nutrition of gladiators, which will introduce visitors to every aspect of the myth of gladiators. A path that arises from literary and epigraphic sources, from which emerges the importance that gladiators had to decree their extraordinary success, training and professional development.

The appointment with the exhibition is part of the collaboration process that the Foundation has activated with the Mann of Naples and which is producing great success in all the appointments put in place up to now. The exhibition is another element that allows tourists to be offered a wide choice of events to associate with visits to the extraordinary archaeological sites of Barumini.
