"Compared to Palestra, Romano is one of our players, and we're very happy with him," Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini explained, speaking to the media on the sidelines of the Lega Serie A meeting.
Marco has a minor injury, but I hope he recovers quickly because he's crucial for the national team. We're happy that Romano has chosen the Azzurri, and I'm sure he'll be a key figure right away. Mancini is a coach who has always believed in young players: we know this well because Nicola Barella started out with the Italian national team under this coach and at Cagliari, and I'm truly happy that Romano will have the same opportunity.
Giulini described himself as "satisfied" with Cagliari's start to the season , having defeated Atalanta in Bergamo on Saturday: "We have two more points than last year, and our goal is to try to save ourselves a little earlier and do better than in previous seasons. However, we still have a long way to go."
