Five years and two months in prison requested for the former commander of the Assemini Carabinieri station, Lieutenant Eugenio Lampis , accused of corruption, and one year and eight months each for Brigadier Vincenzo Rescigno and Francesco Nonnis , suspected of having favored their superior.

Furthermore, the prosecutor requested the indictment of Campania businessman Gennaro Infante , who has long lived in Assemini, for whom the preliminary investigations judge rejected his plea bargaining request. Thus, Deputy Prosecutor Emanuele Secci, in charge of the case, concluded his arguments at the preliminary hearing before Cagliari Court Judge Giulia Tronci, concluding with the conviction requests for the three defendants who were granted summary judgment.

The investigation is linked to alleged gifts given by Infante to the former commander to avoid receiving eviction notices from the National Agency that manages and allocates seized and confiscated assets . The other two officers, however, have been investigated for aiding and abetting, forgery, and failure to perform official duties.
