A great Federica Brignone won the World Cup giant slalom in Sestriere. The other Italian, Sofia Goggia, came in fourth. Brignone, in 2.08.81, repeated her feat and, after Friday's victory, also won the second giant slalom in Sestriere. For her - who increases her lead in the general standings - it is the 34th career victory and the 16th in giant slalom, thus surpassing Alberto Tomba's 15 victories.
With her on the podium were Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami in 2.09.87 and New Zealander Alice Robinson in 2.09.60. For Italy - after a second run that spun a little more than the first and with a perfect surface on the Giovanni Alberto Agnelli track - Sofia Goggia, excellent in the decisive run in which she recovered 13 positions, finished an excellent fourth in 2.09.99.
Nothing to do instead for the Piedmontese Marta Bassino who skipped a gate after an excessive inclination. Tomorrow the three days of Sestriere will end with a special slalom.
