Among the bass players who have characterized Italian indie music, he occupies a privileged place. His bass lines have set the stages and audiences of Litfiba, CSI, Marlene Kuntz and CCCP concerts alight. Gianni Maroccolo arrives in Sassari with his new project "Il sonatore di basso". The appointment is on May 8th at the Teatro Civico at 9 pm. For the occasion he will be accompanied by the voice of Andrea Chimenti . Also on stage will be Mur Rouge , bassist and collaborator who will reveal technical and artistic secrets behind the construction of the unmistakable " Maroccolo sound " and Andrea Salvi who will guide the audience through an engaging narration intertwining, as mentioned, music and words
“Il Sonatore di Basso” is not just a performance, but an immersive experience that intertwines sounds, narration and human encounters. A project that goes beyond the boundaries of artistic genres: not a simple concert, nor a lesson or a conference, but a multidimensional event that celebrates the 50th anniversary of Gianni Maroccolo's first encounter with the electric bass, a good practice of which today he is absolutely one of the best and most influential interpreters.
The musical project was born between the pages of two “complementary” books soon to be released: “Il Sonatore di Basso” precisely, a collection of transcriptions on sheet music and tablature of the bass parts of over 100 of the most representative songs of Gianni Maroccolo’s career; and “Memorie di un Sonatore di Basso”, which instead tells the genesis and evolution of those songs, revealing anecdotes, reflections and behind-the-scenes on his music. After a long work of writing, transcribing and finishing, these works have inspired a live version of this tale of notes and days and intersections, where the magic of the narrative merges with the power of sound in a show between words and notes.
